Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Confirmatory
General Information
The Abbott Alinity HBsAg Qualitative II Confirmatory assay is a chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for the confirmation of the presence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum and plasma by means of specific antibody neutralization.
It is intended to be used for the confirmation of samples found to be repeatedly reactive by Abbott Alinity HBsAg Qualitative II.
Patient Preparation
For taking blood samples we recommend that users follow either their local protocols or “The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures”.
Red top blood (serum) samples
- Sufficient blood for the test should be drawn into red topped (no additive) vacuum tubes.
